Illusions

"The universe is not only queerer than we suppose. It is queerer than we can suppose."

This is actually a continuation of the previous blog.As i have mentioned in the previous blog,a star has been found 13.7 billion light years away.Consider the galaxy that this star belongs to.This galaxy too will be approximately 13 billion light years away. This means that light which was emitted from this galaxy around 13 billion light years back is now finally reaching our planet earth in the milky way.
Here's a weird thought. What if all the galaxies we see today, are actually light emitted from our own galaxy, billions of years back.I might sound inane, but consider this-maybe the galaxy which is 2 billion light years away from the milky way is actually how our milky way looked 2 billion light years back and that its light is reaching our eyes AGAIN today after taking a turn around the universe.Maybe that's what makes it seem like another galaxy.I know light travels in a straight line(as has been rightly demonstrated and proved by Mr.Young).But the turn could be because of the various gravitational pulls existing in our universe.
However what i am trying to say is not that only one galaxy exists.NO!!what I'm trying to say,is that maybe there are lesser number of galaxies that what we might believe exist out there.

Remember, our universe is darker and more mysterious than we can ever suppose.

"Beyond the farthest star lies evolution itself"

Im sure most of us as kids have wondered at some point in our lives "Which is the farthest star? And what lies beyond the farthest star?".To answer these questions, astronomers programmed the hubble space telescope to take snapshots of the farthest point in the universe. It turned out that these stars were approximately 13.7 billion light years away from our planet. This means, light which started off from these stars 13.7 billion light years back is now finally reaching our earth. This is approximately when the big bang actually took place(13.7 billion years ago).
So what this could mean is that we can actually see the childhood of the evolution of our universe.Whatever i typed till now,was picked from the book "Parallel Worlds" by Michio Kaku.
And it was important to mention it in this blog, because the message which i shall now try to deliver is related to the above provided facts.
For those who know, light is the fastest known form of matter/energy/whatever u classify it as.
A light beam has a velocity of 300000000m/s².Suppose you start moving faster than light. Then you would be in the future.Because, when u move faster than light, you are ahead of time and you can actually see the events happen as time passes,i.e till the light speed catches up with your's.
So then suppose we start off from the earth and move into space at a speed much faster than that of light. Then we can actually observe the continuous evolution of earth since you left it.Maybe this could help us move back in time too.Say suppose you start moving faster than light,in the direction of the oldest star, which is 13.7 light years away. That means u shall take less than 13.7 billion years to reach it,since you are moving faster than light. That would mean you actually went back in time, right????
Also, since light from a star 13.7 billion light years is now reaching us,it could be possible that many of the other things we observe are actually of the past and not currently happening. What I'm trying to say is that what if light doesn't always travel in a straight line????There would then be a delay involved in the time it would take to reach the observers eye.
Here's a weird example, but on the same lines(i hope I'm making sense):-When you watch a cricket match on television, you see the live match. But this match actually reaches the viewers television a few seconds after it actually takes place right? This is so because the transmitted signal takes some time to be transmitted. So what u feel is LIVE is actually the past(by a few seconds).Similar maybe the case with many other activities in our lives.Ok this point isn't really strong enough, but its just a thought i had and so i felt I'd share it.
Anyways the other stuff did make sense i feel, like the time travel part.Maybe many people must've had these ideas before.
